Good Neighbours give back

Corporate citizenshhip is really just a fancy term for being a good neighbour. We like to think of ourselves as good neighbours. As company owners we are proud that we were lucky enough to grow up here, we live here and are raising our families here. It is a great source of pride for us to be able to sponsor local sports groups and events such as the Sicamous Eagles Junior B hockey club, Salmon Arm Junior A Hockey Club and BC Special Olympics to name a few. Twin Anchors believes in our youth we offer three separate bursaries to help our Graduates at Eagle River Secondary High school get a head start in their careers. Student can apply for the following bursaries:

  • Young Entrepreneur Female Bursary
  • Young Entrepreneur Male Bursary
  • The Paul Stone Memorial Bursary

We believe it is important to help close to home; and our employee’s do too. The Twin Anchor’s Employee Committee generously donates and raises money throughout the year for the local food bank and the community’s needs.

Our 60,000 facility includes two production lines allowing us to build up to six houseboats at one time. As we are completing all phases of construction on site, we employ people in a variety of trades and technology including; Engineering, interior design, interior finishing, construction, electrical, plumbing, project management, administration and welding. There are many opportunities for cross training and learning new skills. Existing employees are always considered for internal transfers. We also have some apprenticeship space available. Environmental Measures:
A Primer on Twin Anchors Manufacturing

With so much talk about Environment concerns such as global warming and pollution, Twin Anchors is taking positive steps toward implementing environmentally friendly processes. We realize that even the small changes make a difference, especially in the long run.

  • Recycling unused or unwanted materials and products to prevent unnecessary waste from filling landfills.
  • Lean Manufacturing practicing the 5S System;
    • 5 S is a system to reduce waste and optimize productivity through maintaining an orderly workplace and using visual cues to achieve a more consistent operational result.
    • Method and implementation approach. 5 S is a cyclical methodology: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain the cycle. This results in continual improvement.
  • We also offer environmentally friendly components for houseboats being constructed for those individual who also want to be environmentally responsible.
